Stephen Kent was selected as Super lawyer-Business Litigation for 2014. In late 2013 and early 2014 Stephen Kent obtained appointment of a receiver for his client in a shareholder control dispute. Subsequently his client settled with the opposing shareholders such that Kent Law’s client took complete ownership and management of the company. In the fall of 2013 Stephen Kent obtained a Temporary Restraining Order against his client’s employee who was violating a covenant not to compete. In July of 2013 Stephen Kent successfully defended his client in a 7 day construction defect case jury trial obtaining a defense verdict. Subsequently his client was awarded significant costs against plaintiff by the court that were ultimately paid to our client by plaintiff.
In 2012 Kent Law again met with success with 2 jury trials, both resulting in defense verdicts for its clients Pella Corp., who had been sued for construction defects, and Wal-Mart who had been sued for premises liability. In addition Kent Law was selected as local counsel by the insurers for the Reno Air Racing Association to defend after the September 2011 air race crash that resulted in the death of 10 and injury of many.
